Birdwatching for Beginners at RSPB Minsmere - 1st, 15th and 29th October.  Learn how to identify the fantastic species of birds at Minsmere with the help of RSPB guides.  Tickets cost £8 per adult and £4 per child plus usual reserve entry fee.

Scaresville 2017 - The award winning scare attraction takes place after dark in almost complete darkness at Kentwell Hall, Long Melford, Thursday 5 October - Saturday 4 November.  Tel: 01787 310 207.  Now in its 11th year many old favourite scares return as well as lots of devilish new ones.  Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult and not for the very young.

Lavenham Guildhall - Spinning Demonstrations.  Visit Lavenham Guildhall in one of the spinning Thursdays and see volunteers in action - Thursday 5, 12, 19 October.  Lavenham Guildhall, Market Place, Lavenham.

Melford Hall - Art revealed by torchlight.... Hidden depths of Melford Hall's paintings.  Friday October 6, Melford Hall, Long Melford, Sudbury.  An opportunity to view some of the paintings as they have never been seen before.

Ickworth - Wood and Craft Fair - Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October.  A weekend for everyone to enjoy as woodcraft and country craft professionals and enthusiasts come together to demonstrate and sell their crafts.  10am - 4pm.  Ickworth, The Rotunda, Horringer, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5QE.

Flipside Festival - Friday 6 - Sunday 8 October.  The arts festival with a latin beat.  Books, films, food, art and family fun.  Held at Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Snape, IP17 1SP.

Ickworth - The Roots of Ickworth - Children's activities.  Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October, 10.30 - 4pm.  Get exploring with your 50 things activities and I spy woodland trail.

Melford Hall - Melford Hall's Railway Walk - Saturday 7 October 10.30 - 1pm.  Meet at Lavenham Guildhall tearoom.  A guided walk taking in some railway history as well as the natural beauty of the Suffolk countryside.

Bury St Edmunds Book Fair - Saturday 7 October, 10am - 4pm.  The Athenaeum, Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds.  Experienced, professional booksellers from around the UK will be offering for sale a wide range of collectable, rare and secondhand books.  Adults £1 children under 15 free.

East Anglian Falconry and Countryside Fair - Saturday 7 October, 10am - 4.30pm, Mid Suffolk Showground, Stonham Barns, Stonham Aspal.  A celebration of Falconry and Countryside Pursuits - horses, dogs, ferrets, food stalls, craft stands, bar, hounds, carriage driving, air gun shooting.  Ticket includes entry to Suffolk Owl Santuary.  Tickets Adult £7.50, children £6 under 4's free.

Afternoon of Racing - Saturday 7 October, opens 12.05pm.  The Rowley Mile, Newmarket Racecourses, Newmarket, CB8 OTG.  An amazing days racing at the Rowley Mile with an incredible amount of prize money on offer.  Tickets from £16.20 per person

The Great Framlingham Sausage Festival - Sunday 8 October, 10am - 4pm.  Framlingham hosts its annual celebration of all that is great about the British sausage.

Gothic Falconry at Framlingham Castle - 21st and 22nd October, 11am - 4pm each day.  This weekend when visiting Framlingham Castle you can witness beautiful birds, such as falcons, owls, and hawks as demonstrated by the professionals.

Landguard Spooky Day - Saturday 28 October, 12pm - 4pm, Felixstowe Museum, View Point Road, Felixstowe, IP11 3TW.  A fun-packed afternoon of gentle chills and thrills.  Spooky puppet show, balloon-modelling, spooky crafts, quiz....  Tickets children £7, adults £2.
